PBDE and What You Should Know

First of all, what is PBDE? PBDE stands for polybrominated diphenyl ether. It is a chemical used in flame retardants for decades. This chemical is found in foam furniture, electronics, fabrics, carpets and plastics. The recent study published by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences is the first study to examine the relationship between PBDEs and fertility. Britain’s first iPhone baby due

You may have recently seen this headline.  No, the iPhone isn’t now giving birth…..but there is an iPhone application that is helping women track their cycles and help monitor when they are close to ovulation. The woman in the article reportedly was scheduled to go through IVF and used the application. She got pregnant spontaneously. Did the iPhone help her get pregnant? Should iPhones replace infertility treatment? I’m partly kidding in even suggesting that iPhone applications replace infertility treatments but the answer is no, they shouldn't. There’s been much media attention surrounding a recent study out of the UK. The article suggests that women run out of 90% of their eggs by age 30.
