Preparing for Ovarian PRP

Select the Appointment Day
- Procedure dates: Ovarian PRP treatments are scheduled for Wednesday morning and early afternoon.
- Location: Dr. Aimee performs Ovarian PRPs at her office in San Ramon, California.
- Check-in and procedure time: On the Monday before your Wednesday appointment, we’ll send you an email with your check-in and procedure time.
Consent Forms
- Sign the Consent Forms: After selecting your appointment date, you’ll receive consent forms to sign, along with an invoice for payment.
Day Before Ovarian PRP

- Stay well-hydrated before your Ovarian PRP. Drink electrolyte-rich drinks like Coconut Water, Gatorade, Watermelon Juice or convenient hydration powder packets from LMNT, DripDrop, or Liquid IV.
- Avoid eating anything after midnight.
Ovarian PRP Day

Before Your Procedure
- You can have clear fluids up to 3 hours before your procedure, limited to water, apple juice, and black coffee.
- Prescription medications, such as those for blood pressure, can be taken the morning of.
During Your Procedure
- You’ll check in at at Dr. Aimee’s office at 5401 Norris Canyon Road, Suite 104 in San Ramon, CA. Expect to spend approximately 2 hours at from check-in to check-out, with the procedure itself lasting around 30 minutes.
- After check-in, you’ll complete consent forms for surgery and anesthesia.
- Your partner or support person can wait in the waiting area. They must stay with you for the remainder of the day after your procedure.
After Ovarian PRP

- Refrain From Activities: After receiving anesthesia, refrain from driving, drinking alcohol, operating machinery, making important decisions, or signing legal documents for at least 24 hours.
- Nutrition: Begin with small amounts of liquids and progress to a light meal when you feel ready. Avoid spicy, fatty, and heavy foods until you feel ready to advance to your regular nutrition.
- Limit Movement: Rest at home and limit activity the day of the procedure, avoiding strenuous exercise, heavy lifting, or jarring activities.
- Pain Management: Light to moderate cramping and light vaginal spotting are normal. Over-the-counter medications like acetaminophen (Tylenol) and ibuprofen (Advil) should help relieve any discomfort. If you have been prescribed Tylenol #3, take as directed if needed, but not in addition to over-the-counter Tylenol.
- Follicle Count: After your procedure, Dr. Aimee will email you the number of follicles she saw in each ovary.
- Contact Us: If you experience heavier-than-normal bleeding, severe pain or cramping not relieved by medications, or a fever over 100.2 F, email Dr. Aimee or call us at (925) 277-0600.

Follicle Check Appointment

- Ultrasound and Blood Work: Two weeks after your Ovarian PRP procedure date, you’ll visit Dr. Aimee’s San Ramon office for an ultrasound to check follicles and a blood draw to measure AMH levels.
- Period Start Date: If your period starts before this appointment, email Dr. Aimee with the subject line, “Post-Ovarian PRP: My period started.”
- Next Steps: Based on the procedure results, Dr. Aimee will recommend the next steps in your treatment plan.
